And some more pictures from Nationals...

Sparky on A course sheep.

I just loved this shot after his A course run. He as so excited to have done a good job. :-)

Sparky at the hold pen in A sheep.

Sparky on ducks.

I love his head in this one.

He did such a good job with such a hard set of ducks!

Some pictures from Nationals...

Sparky and Dawna with his Herding wins! He received his HIAs at nationals and a few weekends after completed his HIAd. Now onto Advanced!!

Armani on the move. Such a pretty puppy for just a 6 month old. He is Toby/Vogue.

The family shot of the Sparky/Becca litter! I thought this shot was too cute with Mom, Dad, and all the puppies.

Windy on the move in the Parade of Title Holders. She sure is a pretty girl. She is Brayden/Roo.

Armani getting a bath. This was a candid that was shot and I just loved it as it really shows Armani's gorgeous head. I love this boy!

Dazzle on the move. Poor girl, she was completely hairless at the nationals. She is home now and I am training her in herding.

Cardigan Needing Home

I have a 5 year old Cardigan neutered black and white male looking for a new home. He is house broken, good with kids, well mannered, a bit of a loud mouth at times (ie typical Cardi has to announce to the world when someone is at the door!), but otherwise a sweet boy. He is healthy, gets along with other dogs, and loves to be with his person (as you can see with this photo of him helping out in the garden!). If you are interested please email me privately.

Border Collie Nationals 2011 - Way Out West

After some much needed rest, I think I can finally report on all our winnings of the 2011 BCSA National! So hear it goes...

As many of you know I was co-chair of the entire event. This is not an easy task to take on, especially being the first West coast national for Border Collies. Our committee spent 3 years plus planning for the 9 days jam packed full of events at nationals! All in all everything went smoothly. We sure had a lot of positive comments, which makes those countless hours and devotion to putting on the national much more worth it. Our volunteer shirts had a slogan on the back, "Best in the West Butt Kicking Border Collie Crew" and I sure thought this summed up our committee members!

Onto the results...

Herding - Sparky (Ch Red Ryder at Real Pearl HSAsd, etc.) won a 2nd and a 3rd in Intermediate A Course Sheep, completing his Int title! He also won a 2nd in Ducks and now needs one more Q for that title. Dawna took him to some great runs on tough stock! I was very proud of both of them!!
Unfortunately, none of our other dogs had a chance to prove themselves in herding, so we will look forward to the next local herding trial!

Agility - My grandpup Denali I heard did well in agility at nationals with several Q's. Kelly is sure doing an awesome job with this special boy!

Conformation - Jointly Pawcific South and North had some great wins this year. It's easier just to make a list. :-)
Puppy Sweepstakes
1st place in 6-9 puppy dog for Armani (Jollypaws Sharp Dressed Man)
1st place in 6-9 puppy bitch and BEST OPP IN PUPPY SWEEPS for Molly (Pawcific Cover Girl at Jollypaws)
Veteran Sweepstakes
1st place and BEST VETERAN IN SWEEPS for Morgan (GrCH Wildair Blazing To Morgan)
Regular Classes
1st place in 6-9 puppy dog for Armani
1st place in 6-9 puppy bitch for Molly
The puppies jointly won the Brace class. The only entry but they sure did look great together!
4th in Bred by bitch for Sacred (Pawcific Not On the First Date)
3rd in Am Bred for Dazzle (Pawcific I've Been Dazzled)
1st in Veteran bitch and BEST VETERAN for Morgan
3rd in Herding Titled Dog for Sparky (I know he placed in Stud Dog as well)
1st in Herding Titled bitch and AWARD OF MERIT for Rime (Ch Wildair Winter Light HSAs)
SELECT BITCH for Lucy (BISS Ch Pawcific Dream Date) - and a note, this is the second year in a row that I have bred the Select Bitch at nationals, which I think is pretty cool!

Supported Show on Sunday
By this time I was so tired that I didn't keep track of placings in classes, but Vogue (GrCh Pawcific Strike A Pose) came away with an AWARD OF MERIT win.

A successful show, a successful national for the Pawcific crew, and most of all we can all say it's over!

PS Pictures will be coming soon. ;-)

OKC 2011

After having a pretty long span of not going to any dog shows...we all packed up the trailer and went to the Olympic KC shows. It was great to have the trailer out again and everything went fairly smoothly (minus some minor electrical problems, but we made do). The dogs were excited to be back at the dog show again and we had some nice wins. Although I brought my camera and had every intention of getting updated photos of some of the youngsters (now more like teenagers/adults)...it just didn't happen. But, I can at least give you a winning photo...
Walker aka La Ren Moon Walker won Best Phalene at the PAPS specialty show on Friday. Since Walker is such a Mom's boy, my Mom has been working with him and showed him to the win. She did a beautiful job and beat some other nice phalenes. I do have to mention that this is his second year in a row of winning this award at the PAPS specialty. He is one gorgeous boy!

Other show news...Jenny showed Dasher (BC) in Rally and won 2 qualifying legs, she also showed Lucy (BC) to Select Bitch and BOB. Mom took Rocket (Papillon) in Rally at the specialty and won his class, then did Beginner Novice on Saturday and won 2nd place with a score of 198! Jeanette went with us and showed Landen (BC) to his first 2 qualifying legs in Rally and WD, BOW on Sunday, Taz (schipperke) had some great runs in agility, and the BC puppies had fun in the match on Friday! Oh yeah, and I managed to show Fraser (Cardi) to 2nd in group at the match, then he placed in Bred by, Edward (BC) was BOS, WD for 2 pts on Sat, and Splash was Select Dog and BOS.

Overall it was a fun show!!

Miley puppies at 8 weeks old!

I am finally getting a chance to post 8 week old pictures of the Miley/Beatle puppies. My life has been a little hectic with the Border Collie Nationals being a month away!!
Here are the puppies...
Flick - aka an absolutely perfect pocket pet! He is small and mighty. He is very outgoing and is looking for a pet home. This puppy will probably be around 8 inches and only a few pounds as an adult. Right now he weighs only 1 1/2 lbs! He has been the first puppy to discover things and really is smart!

Flick's side

Hopper - is a promising puppy. We are waiting on some decisions before deciding where he will go specifically but he is already spoken for.

Hopper side

Skeeter - aka possible phalene????? or maybe just a really big eared papillon?? Time will tell! He is also very promising and if his ears don't lift to be a papillon, he may just be staying. Otherwise, he has a show home lined up.

Skeeter side

I am very pleased with the litter overall. Just was hoping for a girl instead of 3 boys!!! Oh well...praying that Miley's final litter will have a girl that we can keep.
