Updates here at Pawcific!

Last week we made a point to have a family photo session of dogs that we needed updated pictures of. It was a nice day, although cold and windy! I am hoping that I can get some more pictures of my crew in the near future but we are in the middle of another rainy spell, so it will have to wait until things clear up again!

First off is Fraser, my sable male. I can't believe he will be two in May already. He is a stunning boy, just needs more time to fill out and mature. Sadly, I am offering him up for sale as my breeding program in Cardigans is coming to an end for the time being. I love breeding the Cardigans but need a break from it to concentrate on other things in life. I have more information about him on my website, but if you would like to inquire about him, please email me at emluv2sing @ aol . com (without spaces).

Might I add that his black overlay is coming back now with his mature coat. He is going through a huge shed right now and is totally ungroomed in these photos. I wanted him to look as naturally himself as possible!

Next updated shots is of Pocahontas or Poca (for short). She is 11 weeks in these photos. As with any photos of her, she is very quick to do other things so it is extremely hard to get her to stay still!

Next update is Nola...she has just been spayed, so no more puppies for her. Instead she gets to go to a great retirement home in Portland. Before she left, I decided I better get an updated shot of her, even though she hardly has any coat (after puppies mothers shed out their coat completely, it's the most bald they will ever be!). Here it is!

Then we move to the Border Collies. First off is Dasher, the handsome Kahnel x Lucy son we kept from that exciting litter. He has been shown as a puppy a few times (with some prestigious wins to his credit already!), but Jenny has been concentrating on more performance training while he matures. He has two legs towards his Rally Novice title, only needs one more to earn that title. Then he also has his STDs title in ASCA herding. More herding titles will be coming soon! He is an amazing herding dog with tons of potential, lots of power and eye with the finesse his mother Lucy has. I am very proud to have bred and own him with Jenny (my sister) and Kathy (my mom). He turned two this winter and he now has all of his health clearances.

Next Border Collie is Dazzle! She is the Sparky/Dolly puppy I kept from that litter. She just turned two as well and after passing her health clearances we look forward to breeding her this Spring/Summer. After her litter, she will then get back to intense training in herding and back in the ring to finish her Championship.

Finally, you cannot forget about my wonderful phalene, Walker. Walker has been on vacation with Mary Jo Loye for the past few months. She kindly offered to show him in her area for us and finished his CH in 8 shows! He is now CH La Ren Moon Walker. Thank you to his breeder/co-owner Janis McLaren for trusting me with this special boy. He is back home and being totally spoiled. He will be making a few appearances in the ring locally and we get to watch his first litter of puppies grow up!

Update on Token/Nola puppies...

Here are some updates on the puppies!!

As many of you know Pocahontas ended up staying here at Pawcific. Evan is calling her Poca for short and her full name will be Pawcific Colors of the Wind.

Peter Pan is with Token's breeder, Yolanda at Dune Cardigans. He is sure growing up into a lovely boy. His full name will be Pawcific Dunes Neverland.

Ariel...who is now Nala and is owned by Kim and Leo of Coedwig Cardigans. Her full name will be Pawcific Lion Queen.

I know many have been asking about where Simba was going since he didn't quite make the cut as far as a show prospect. Well...he found the perfect home with a special friend from one of my previous litters, Spring (Pawcific Queen of The Desert with tons of titles in both agility and herding!) and owner Marty. Marty has hopes to make Simba her next agility and herding prospect. His full name will be Pawcific Hakuna Matata. (Pictured below in his new home with Spring!)
I also got a nice update from some of the companion puppies new homes. Belle is now Bella and is doing well with her new pal Sammy (a 14 yr old Pembroke)! They love to play together and it sounds as though Bella will keep Sammy young with her playfulness.

The last update I have is from Mulan...now Daisy...she is pictured below with her new pal Maggie. She has fit nicely into the household and is already learning important commands like sit, down, and 'go to bed'.
I always love to hear from my "grandpups" (as I like to call them) and hear how they are doing. It makes me smile inside. :-)

Token/Nola puppies - quick update after evaluations...

For those wondering what happened at the puppy party evaluations...here is the quick run down...

Mulan and Cinderella (now Gwyneth) left for their new homes this weekend.

Peter Pan is off to grow up at Yolanda's house (via Dayl's house) and our fingers are crossed that he will be a show dog some day!

Belle and Aladdin leave early this week to their new homes.

Ariel has a home pending and you may be seeing her in the show dog world as well.

Simba is currently available. Yes, you heard that the red/sable male is looking for a home. I am sure he will find a home soon. Please email me if you are interested and if you have already inquired, please email me again so I make sure I know who still is searching for a puppy.

And finally...well Pocahontas was spoken for BUT after Evan sat and cried in my arms that she was leaving Saturday evening and being totally attached to this puppy from the start...I have told Evan that he can keep her for now as long as he helps with her training. We will play it by ear and see how it goes but I can't let her go unless Evan is ok with it. (and yes, she is one of our picks in the litter, so you may see her in the show ring as well...Evan might even let me show her. :D)

Thank you to all the breeders who came over to see the puppies. It was great to get a chance to have some down time and share ideas on evaluations. I am also glad that many agreed with what my evaluations were.

Snow Day 2012

Snow Day here in the Northwest. It happens usually once a year, maybe a few more depending on how kind or not kind the weather is being. In our land...people see snow and stay home, even if the roads are clear or like today where it is currently raining (ummm....that means snow is melting quickly)...and school is cancelled. But...it is looking like I still have to go to work...good thing...I get paid...bad thing...I will have a lot of cancellations which will make for a long boring day. So...before I go anywhere...here is a few snow day pictures for you!

Our front yard...

For those wondering about puppy pictures this week. You will just have to wait until this weekend when we have the puppy evaluations. The dog show, work, and cleaning house, is taking up my time. (well minus a few minutes to blog!)

But, just for those who can't wait until then...I made Evan bring one of the puppies outside to get a cute Evan and puppy picture in the snow. The puppy nominated = Gwyneth (formally Cinderella). Why? She has her ears up today!!

Have a good day everyone!!
